Child support
Parents have obligations to financially support their children.
Child support is administered by the Child Support Agency and is calculated using three criteria being the ages of your children, the number of nights overnight they are with each of you and your respective incomes.
Assessed child support is rarely sufficient to meet the actual needs of your children. It is open to the parents of children to enter into a Binding Child Support Agreement which makes provision for the payment of periodic child support but also how expenses such as school fees, private health insurance, gap medical expenses and extra-curricular expenses might be shared.
