Fiona Reid, our founding partner, is an AIFLAM trained mediator, and handles cases with the utmost sensitivity and neutrality. She aims to deliver results that satisfy all parties.
Mediation is an opportunity for parties to discuss their family law dispute in a non-adversarial and quiet way with the assistance of someone neutral who can help you to focus on looking forward and achieving a solution.
While Fiona takes a neutral stance during your mediation and is not able to provide you with legal advice, she is, if desired, happy to conduct an evaluative mediation providing each of the parties with her thoughts as to the likely outcome of the proceedings, were they to proceed to a final hearing.
Fiona is happy to conduct mediations with you directly or with the assistance of your lawyers.
Mediation can be used at any time throughout your family law matter, even after Court proceedings have commenced, to help bring your dispute to an end. Given the current delays in the family courts and the cost of litigation, mediation is becoming more and more common as a means of resolution.
Fiona has many years’ experience in all facets of family law practice including property and parenting matters, relocation, child support issues, spouse maintenance, same-sex parenting matters and de facto property.
Fiona is an accredited specialist in family law, holds a Master of Laws (Applied Law) majoring in Family Law and is a Graduate Fellow of the College of Law. Fiona is a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and is a Doyle’s recommended family lawyer. Fiona has practised exclusively in the Family Law Jurisdiction since 1999, running her own firm since 2006.
She has gained accreditation through the Australian Institute of Family Law Arbitrators and Mediators (AIFLAM) to NMAS Standards and is a LEADR trained mediator.
